If you are admitted to hospital for surgery, then there may be additional out-of-pocket expenses.  Dr Dohrmann can provide estimates of his own fees, but additional expenses can arise from pathology, radiology and from other medical specialists who may be involved in your treatment.

Pathology and radiology (blood test and X-rays) are services provided by independent practitioners.  If you are treated at Epworth and have any blood tests or x-rays performed, then you will receive bills from Melbourne Pathology and from Mayne Diagnostic Imaging.  These groups are unrelated to Dr Dohrmann's practice and are unrelated to Epworth Hospital's billing, though each are highly regarded providers of diagnostic services.

You may need to allow for some additional costs arising from pathology and radiology.  If other medical specialists are asked to assist in your care, on referral from Dr Dohrmann, then there may be additional out-of-pocket costs due to those specialists.  If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to speak to Dr Dohrmann or one of his staff.
